We are seeking a Junior Financial Analyst.
 
Reporting to the Manager, Financial Reporting, the Junior Financial Analyst will be accountable for assisting the Finance team with the preparation of periodic financial statements and Management Discussion & Analysis (MD&A), periodic financial and analytic reports, will assist with the month-end closing process, and other projects as needed. The individual should have completed a post-secondary degree in accounting, looking to pursue their CPA through First Majestic’s pre-approved training program. 
 
Key Responsibilities & Duties
•    Roll forward workbooks on a monthly/quarterly basis as the starting point for the preparation for the financial statements and MD&A. 
•    Leverage technology and effectively use information systems and tools to generate reports and presentations.
•    Drive the design and development of new reports to improve financial and operational awareness of results.
•    Prepare periodic reports analyzing the results for internal distribution to assist management in the understanding of financial and operational results and key issues.
•    Provide support for variance analysis of actual results as well as budgeting and forecasting to various departments.
•    Assist with preparation of earnings releases, regulatory filings, and supporting schedules for note disclosures.
•    Update work procedures and flow charts to summarize risks and controls visually for internal teams and external auditors.
•    Support the finance team members with the month-end and quarter-end closing process. 
•    Other office and administrative tasks to support the department.
•    Other ad hoc duties and tasks as necessary 

 

Core Qualifications
•    Completion of post-secondary degree in accounting, looking to pursue their CPA.
•    Advanced skills with Microsoft Office – especially Excel.
•    Posses solid technical and creative problem-solving skills.
•    Extremely comfortable leveraging technology with a creative aptitude to bring forward fresh ideas to improve reports.
•    Proven analytical skills and ability to communicate messages “up”.
•    Have a curious mind that is actively learning and engaged.

Salary Range: $59,000 to $70,000

 

Expected Salary: Actual base salary is determined by factors such as qualifications, relevant experience, prevailing market conditions for the specific role, and internal equity.
