We are seeking a collaborative and driven Human Resources Generalist to join our team.

 

Reporting to the Director of Human Resources – Corporate, the Human Resources Generalist will be responsible for providing full-cycle HR support to First Majestic Silver’s corporate office employees. This role is responsible for administering HR policies and procedures, supporting employee relations, overseeing recruitment and onboarding, and ensuring compliance with employment laws and internal standards. The HR Generalist plays an important role in fostering a positive work environment and promoting employee engagement. This role provides an exciting opportunity for an HR professional to gain experience in a dynamic, multi-national organization.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day support and guidance to employees and managers with respect to performance management, employee relations, conflict resolution and other HR-related matters. 
  • Lead full-cycle recruitment, including screening resumes, conducting interviews, completing references and preparing employment contracts.
  • Coordinate employee onboarding and offboarding processes to ensure a seamless employee experience.
  • Support performance management and training initiatives, including administering the annual performance management process, developing program materials and facilitating regular training.
  • Partner with leaders to develop and execute internal communication strategies to ensure regular communication to employees.
  • Maintain and support the HRIS, ensuring accurate and timely entry of new positions, job changes, terminations, employee profiles, leave tracking, etc.
  • Coordinate the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with employment standards and alignment with First Majestic Silver’s culture. Participate in policy discussions and make recommendations regarding policy changes.
  • Collaborate with key policy owners on the annual review of corporate policies and the Employee Handbook; support communication, roll-out and training to employees.
  • Coordinate the service award program for corporate employees, liaising with Mexican operations as required to ensure consistent application.
  • Prepare reports and metrics related to HR activities to support data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain employee and other HR files to support efficient and legally compliant processes.
  • Support global HR projects.
  • All other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

 

Qualification and Skill Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in HR, Commerce, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of HR experience in an advisory or business partner role, preferably within the natural resources or industrial sectors.
  • Proven knowledge of HR best practices and regulations, including BC Employment Standards.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and facilitation skills.
  • Experience providing a wide range of general HR advice and coaching to leaders and employees.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative, negotiate, influence, and develop creative solutions.
  • Strong attention to detail coupled with flexibility and excellent organizational skills to prioritize workloads, multi-task, and manage detailed project work within a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong aptitude to assimilate to new technology coupled with an ability to analyze data, highlight trends and prepare reports.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications is essential; experience using SAP SuccessFactors is valuable.
  • Written and verbal fluency in English is required; Spanish language skills are an asset.

Base Salary Range: $85,000 to $105,000. Note that actual base salary is determined by factors such as qualifications, relevant experience, prevailing market conditions for the specific role, and internal equity.

 

The First Majestic team values collaboration and connectivity; Vancouver-based employees are required to work a minimum of 4 days in our downtown office.
